The chief technology officer of AIG Mike Brady believes that drones will soon become a big part of the insurance business – but from two very different angles. One, drones will help firms evaluate the disaster and accident scenes faster and therefore increase the efficiency in assessing the damage. With that belief, AIG already received its corporate drone license and works on implementing the technology into its everyday business.
The second idea uses the forecast, that by 2025 the US businesses will be buying 160,000 drones a year. Given this considerable number, one can imagine that flying drones might create various risks that individuals will wish to insure themselves against. AIG is already offering drone insurance that not only covers the drone from damage, but also the liability it may cause.
