Drone selfies patent approval for Twitter

25/02/16

According to CNBC, Twitter has been granted with its first drone patent. The company has developed its own social media drone, which will take photos and videos with the possibility of being shared on their Twitter accounts. The user will be able to control the UAV’s movement and stream what it captures. Twitter spokesman tried to give away as little information as possible and only defined the drone’s functions with two words: “drone selfies”.

We can therefore imagine, that we are probably standing in front of the next evolution step in selfie making. The invention of the “selfie” has revolutionized not only photography but also branding and marketing. We therefore promise to follow this ground breaking idea closely. The invention has come after Twitter launched Periscope, which allows Twitter users to stream live video from their accounts.
