Yet another step is being done in having their beer delivered straight to one's living room. The leading tech companies including Google and Amazon together with NASA are currently developing an air traffic control system for drones. “Project Wing” will enable the delivery of goods to customers by drones within even the next year.

The idea is rather simple. “Moving people and stuff around the planet in an efficient way is where I want to get,” said Vos from Google on Monday.

Do not expect a fully operating control system yet.  As for now, the government is only asking for ideas on how the system will operate. No decision with regard to who will be responsible for it has been made.

We think the airspace side of this picture is really not a place where any one entity or any one organization can think of taking charge,” Dave Vos, told Bloomberg News. “’ The idea really is anyone should be free to build a solution.” It will therefore be interesting to see, if this democratic approach will not only continue but also be successful in the drone infrastructure development.
