Case Study 18:
Computer Forensics

The issue: Based on an internal investigation done by the Internal Audit of one of the largest Polish quoted companies, we were engaged to image and analyse hard drives of 4 key employees suspected of financially benefiting form the contract with one of the strategic services supplier.
Outcome: We identified that two of them were engaged in creation and management of the supplier.

Case Study 19:
Documents and Email Analysis (Electronic Discovery or E-Discovery)

The issue: The Forensic Technology Solutions (FTS) team was engaged to help the FCPA investigative team identifying information that might have been not accessible during the standard course of the FCPA review, as well as to help corroborate those hypotheses already identified by the FCPA review team.
Outcome: The FTS team assisted in preserving, capturing and subsequently analysing company's financial systems information and server data backups as well as email correspondence, information from workstations / laptops & mobile devices such as mobile phones, blackberries and palmtops used by current and former employees of the company. As a result of the FTS analysis, we detected evidence proving malpractices and breaching of the FCPA rules by certain individuals within the company.

Case Study 20:
Data analysis and Data Mining

The issue: The Forensic Technology Solutions (FTS) team was engaged to help the investigative team reviewing finance data, identifying information that might have been not accessible from standard company's reporting system, detecting potential issues as well as to help corroborate those hypotheses already identified by the Investigation team.
Outcome: The FTS was involved in analysing company’s financial system information maintained from within the Microsoft Dynamics IT system in Sales, Purchases and Warehouse modules. As a result of the FTS analysis, we were able to isolate specific transactions and journal entries as well as detect warehouse stock movements, which confirmed malpractices.
