Gerard Karp is a partner and co-head of the Technology, Media and Telecommunications, Intellectual Property Law and Personal Data Protection team at PwC Legal.
Gerard specializes in new technology law, focusing on the protection of personal data and the right to privacy, as well as many aspects of the meeting point between Internet law, IT implementations and the widely understood digital market. He has many years of experience in advising clients from the new technology, e-commerce and retail sectors and also from the banking, insurance and pharmaceutical sectors.
In recent years, he has led many multidisciplinary projects combining e-commerce, personal data protection, intellectual property law as well as a number of implementation projects, including those based on cloud solutions. He has given advice, among other things, in innovative BIG Data projects in the logistics, retail and banking sectors.
Gerard is also the author of publications and papers in this field. The Chambers Europe guide recommends him in the area of personal data protection. He was an award winner in the Forbes Professionals 2012 competition.
