From 5th September 2016 Ewa Szurmińska-Jaworska, managing partner of PwC Legal in Poland will join to PwC US network

Ewa will be responsible for developing our legal practice and services for US clients with business in Central and Eastern Europe. PwC Legal in Poland will be managed by Cezary Żelaźnicki and Jacek Pawłowski, who will be general partners.

Ewa Szurmińska-Jaworska has been involved with PwC Legal in Poland for over seven years and during this time our law firm has gained a strong position in the market and has become the second largest PwC law firm in the CEE region.

Jacek Pawłowski
 specializes in corporate and commercial law and also advises clients in the field of civil law.

During his 16-year career, Jacek has conducted a number of M&A transactions and restructuring processes of both international and domestic capital groups and holdings. He also provides ongoing support to Polish and global companies. Jacek has unique countrywide experience in supporting Polish entrepreneurs, especially in assisting their capital groups in expanding to other countries across the CEE region.

Jacek also focuses on investment funds (especially closed-end). He has conducted a number of transactions involving the transfer of significant assets (companies and real estates) to investment funds.

Furthermore, Jacek also supports Polish family businesses in planning their succession, which involves implementing the transfer of family assets and companies to successors.

Jacek is a legal advisor, he is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (specializing in Law and International Relations). Jacek also studied in Germany, in Bamberg, at the Otto-Friedrich University. He advises clients in both English and German.


Cezary Żelaźnicki
 specializes in advising companies on corporate and commercial law. He also advises on civil, employment and labour law. He has over 15 years of legal experience. He has worked in renowned law firms in Warsaw, Washington, and London.

Cezary focuses on M&A and restructuring projects. He has broad experience in the restructuring of groups of companies and their activities in both Poland and abroad. He has also carried out projects related to foreign direct investments in Poland, including greenfield investments projects.

As part of the corporate practice, Cezary specializes in the division, merger and transformation of companies. In recent years he has given advice on large cross-border mergers of companies from different jurisdictions, coordinating countrywide teams of lawyers.

He also specializes in comprehensive regulatory consulting in the field of consumer law, transportation, and gaming. He has extensive experience in providing legal support to companies from the FMCG, medical devices, consumer goods and manufacturing sectors.

Cezary is the author of several articles and books in the fields of commercial and international law.

He graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Bialystok. He is also  a graduate of the Institute of International and Comparative Law at the Catholic University of America in Washington.
