PwC has won an award in the Financial and Tax Advisor category of the competition held by the Polish Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (PSIK) for entities associated with the private equity/venture capital market.
The aim of the PSIK Awards Competition, the first of which was concluded with a gala dinner on 28 May 2017, is to recognise private equity/venture capital fund managers, advisors, banks and law firms for their achievements on the Polish PE/VC market. In addition, the contest promotes the highest professional standards in the industry as well as PE/VC investors’ contribution to the growth of Polish companies.
PwC has been selected as the Financial and Tax Advisor of the Year.
Last year was very dynamic for the M&A market in our region. The prospects for 2018 are promising. There is a strong macro basis for such an outlook: the rapid growth of the Polish economy (GDP forecast to grow by approx. 4% in 2018 and 2019) and consumption growth fuelling consumer-related sectors. That is why private equity funds are still very much interested in Poland and we, as advisors, have the pleasure of working with them on numerous transactions.
Taxation issues, in which my team specialises, are a crucial aspect in many transactions. I am glad that the private equity/venture capital community appreciates the contribution we’ve made to creating a high-quality capital market in Poland.
The PwC team of advisors providing support to private equity/venture capital funds comprises almost 100 experts who pursue projects in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe.
Candidates for the PSIK Awards are nominated by the members of the Association. A panel of independent judges selects the finalists in ten categories, and the winners are chosen by the members of the PSIK Association in a popular vote.
