In the 15th edition of the ranking of tax advisory companies by the “Rzeczpospolita” daily, PwC Polska was awarded in the "most innovative solution" category for the support we offered to entrepreneurs during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, the award committee described the award as "a reward for exceptional attitude in the pandemic". Our company also took the highest place on the podium in the category "the largest tax advisory company 2020 among listed companies".
More than 30 companies submitted their innovative solutions to this year's "Rzeczpospolita" ranking. The award jury chose the social innovation of the tax and legal departments of PwC and PwC Legal.
The basic principle of PwC is to support our clients in the most difficult times for them, and such an extraordinary time has been and still is the COVID-19 pandemic. Launching our hotline and real assistance 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in the most crucial moment of the lockdown in 2020 was our priority. Thank you very much to the jury for appreciating our work. I dedicate this award primarily to entrepreneurs and managers in Poland fighting the effects of the pandemic in their companies.
In the first weeks of the pandemic, PwC tax and legal experts ran a free, 24-hour hotline where they answered entrepreneurs' questions about COVID-19 in areas such as: tax, legal and business effects of closing or limiting business activity, PIT and ZUS contributions and benefits, tax returns, tax and penal-fiscal consequences resulting from the lack of or late payment of tax liabilities, the use of protective measures implemented by the state, labor law, compliance systems as preventive tools for entrepreneurs. During the month of the hotline's operation at the turn of March and April 2020, experts answered the questions of about 200 entrepreneurs. The period of the COVID-19 pandemic was also associated with the emergence of sudden disruptions in the financial liquidity of our clients. In order to meet the clients' expectations, PwC offered a wide range of solutions to significantly reduce tax burdens and improve liquidity.
Additionally, "Rzeczpospolita" awarded PwC Polska a leading place on the podium in the category of "companies dealing cards for the stock exchange". Out of the large group of our clients, as many as 118 companies are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
