PwC Mergers and Acquisitions Team is the transaction leader in Poland

PwC Polska Mergers and Acquisitions Team (M&A) has been selected by Mergermarket - a international portal dealing with transaction and economic issues - the number 1 advisor on the Polish market in terms of the number of transactions implemented in 2021. As a leading transaction advisor, the team led by Adam Demusiak and Marcin Byrt participated in 15 completed transactions in Poland for a total amount of nearly 10 billion PLN.

“This is yet another time when Mergermarket marks us as leaders in the Polish and global Mergers and Acquisitions market. In Poland this is the third consecutive year of distinction, which shows that private clients and private equity funds trust us enormously and appreciate the value that we bring to transaction processes"

- says Adam Demusiak, partner at PwC Polska, leader of the M&A team.

It is worth emphasizing the transformation that the transactional market has undergone recently - as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic, the way of conducting transactions has changed - restrictions in movement forced remote communication, negotiations moved to "virtual rooms"  and in most transaction documents there are also references to the pandemic’s impact on future business development.

“There has also been a significant polarization between the sectors that investors would like to invest in and where valuations have soared to record levels. Businesses from the technology and infrastructure sectors were still dominant”

- adds Demusiak.

In the last 12 months, the M&A team led by Adam Demusiak and Marcin Byrt, participated as a leading transaction advisor, in 15 completed transactions in Poland with a total value of nearly 10 billion PLN, working with leading Private Equity funds, including Innova Capital, Abris Capital Partners, DIF, Tar Heel Capital, Pollen Street Capital and Polish companies that are leaders in their market segments, such as Blue Media, Mikomax, Bakalland or Izoblok.

“The very hot atmosphere on the M&A market is confirmed by statistics - the Mergermarket ranking shows that the vast majority of advisers increased the number of transactions they have been working on in the last 12 months. For example, PwC globally as a leading transaction advisor in 2021 participated in 720 closed transactions (the most among all M&A advisors), while in 2020 it was 520 transactions"

- adds Marcin Byrt, partner at PwC Poland from the M&A team.
