7 people joined the group of PwC Polska partners

At the beginning of July 2022, 7 new people joined the group of partners of the consulting company PwC Polska. Dionizy Smoleń (transaction advisory), Kornelia Otto (business advisory), Mateusz Płonka (audit), Piotr Kocot (audit and advisory), Piotr Woźniakiewicz (tax advisory), Robert Sawyer (audit), Tomasz Pabiański (tax advisory).

Dionizy Smoleń is a deals partner and will co-lead the Public Sector practice in Poland. He has more than 20 years of professional experience in public administration and consulting.

Dionizy will focus his attention on delivering advisory services among others in the field of organizational transformation, development of trade and economic marketing, urban development and strategic management. He will also continue to develop the collaboration with other teams to fully benefit from the multidisciplinary character of Public Sector projects and increase PwC’s offer. 

Dionizy graduated from the University of Warsaw, as well as the prestigious National School of Public Administration.

Kornelia Otto becomes a consulting partner in the Financial Crime Unit in Poland, with key focus on driving Managed Service as a strategic delivery model for the FCU.

As part of FCU, Kornelia has been supporting global financial institutions predominantly in the Anti-Money Laundering / Know Your Client space, leading large scale, complex, x-border regulatory compliance programmes. She has been working at PwC for 12 years

Kornelia is a graduate of Warsaw School of Economics.

Mateusz Płonka is a partner in our Assurance practice in Poland, focusing mainly on the regional markets of Poznań and Katowice.

He will be applying his experience and relationships from the regional business units to further expand local business, both in the private business segment (EPB) and in the international corporate sector. As the leader of the German Business Group (GBG) in Poland, Mateusz will be further developing the German clients and GBG network. He has been working at PwC for 16 years.

Mateusz graduated from the Katowice University of Economics. He is a registered auditor in Poland and a Fellow of the ACCA.

Piotr Kocot becomes a Broader Assurance Services (BAS) partner in Krakow, where he joined the firm more than 14 years ago. BAS is part of the Assurance practice at PwC Polska. 

Piotr is an audit expert specialising in Global Business Service (GBS) centres, which is one of the fastest growing client segments in Poland. Based on his legacy audit and non-audit experience in the Global Business Service centres environment, as a partner Piotr will focus on developing non-audit services related to GBS segment, by delivering internal controls & internal audit projects, as well as business advisory.

Piotr is a graduate of Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu - National-Louis University. He is a Polish Registered Auditor and a fellow member of ACCA.

Piotr Woźniakiewicz becomes a TLS partner in Poland and he will lead and develop our EPB practice, with a critical focus on succession planning and tax services.

Piotr will continue to advise on group reorganisations and deals. He will also be responsible for TLS  in Krakow and Tax Consulting services in the South of Poland. Piotr has 18 years of experience in Tax and a 14 year track record of working with family businesses. He has been working at PwC for 18 years.

Piotr graduated from the Jagiellonian University in Cracow, law faculty and he is a licensed tax advisor.

Rob Sawyer is a partner in our Assurance practice based in Warsaw, focused on serving a number of US-bound IPO prospects in Central & Eastern Europe as well as a portfolio of US-based components with a significant footprint in CEE in the Technology, Retail & Consumer and Industrial Products sectors.

He began his career with PwC in Pittsburgh, USA. His experience working with large, complex, multinationals provides a foundation to work across borders and to support our clients with aspirations of tapping the US markets. In addition to a client-facing role, he will take a leadership role in our CEE US Accounting & Reporting Group, with primary responsibility for ensuring adherence to US GAAP/US GAAS in all of our territories across CEE.

Rob is a graduate of Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, USA, is an active Certified Public Accountant registered in the state of Pennsylvania, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tomasz Pabiański became a partner in the tax and legal department of PwC Polska. He will co-lead the Indirect Tax Team, focusing on areas such as technical improvement, knowledge management and business product development.

During his career at PwC, he has served both local and international clients from various industries. Tomasz also strengthens building long-term value for public sector clients, focusing in particular on state aid consultancy, ESG-based solutions and real estate investment consultancy. He has been working at PwC for 17 years.

He is a graduate of the University of Warsaw (law faculty) and is a licensed tax advisor.
