PwC Polska will support the

PwC Polska, as the leader of the consortium, together with the Institute of Rural Development and Agriculture of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IRWiR PAN) will provide analytical services to the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission (DG AGRI) for the next five years on the management of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). CAP expenditures constitute the largest part of the EU budget for 2021-2027. Almost EUR 390 billion has been allocated to financing agriculture and rural development, which constitutes approximately 1/3 of all EU funds.

The latest CAP reform introduced a number of changes to its functioning. They are aimed at supporting sustainable agriculture in the EU, while providing Member States with greater flexibility in deciding how to adapt the CAP objectives and instruments to local needs and conditions. Each Member State has prepared a Strategic Plan, which defines the strategy for using funds from the CAP budget. In connection with the latest reform of the CAP, the PwC and IRWiR PAN consortium will provide DG AGRI with analytical support on agriculture and CAP governance.  The services to be carried out under the FWC awarded to us, will be focused on cross-cutting analysis of EU agriculture, considering economic, environmental and climate and social impacts, governance aspects and the delivery model of the CAP.

"In previous years, PwC Polska implemented projects concerning agriculture and rural development in Poland. I am glad that our experience will be able to be used in the implementation of projects at the level of the entire European Union”

- says Dionizy Smoleń, partner of PwC Polska, leader of the Public Sector Services team.

Effective implementation of these projects will be possible thanks to combining PwC's experience in the implementation of projects for the public sector with the expert knowledge of the scientific partner - IRWiR PAN.

"We are extremely proud of the implementation of this project and the opportunity to support the European Commission in such important areas as the agricultural sector, agricultural policy, rural development and policy for improving living conditions in the countryside”

- says Prof. Monika Stanny, director of IRWiR PAN.

The work of the Polish consortium will be supported by a scientific partner from Germany - the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO) and several dozen foreign experts.

"Due to our many years of experience in creating international strategies and public policies, also within this project we managed to create a multinational team consisting of experts from 29 countries”

- adds Paweł Oleszczuk, Director of PwC Poland, Public Sector Services Team.
