Starting in August, Krystian Solawa will join the partnership of PwC Poland, strengthening the Debt & Capital Advisory team. Krystian brings nearly 20 years of experience in financing advisory, including in the energy and infrastructure sectors.

The Debt & Capital Advisory team at PwC in Poland is one of the largest financing advisory teams in the Polish market. It comprises approximately 20 specialists, including Michał Szyk (Director), Roman Lisiecki (Director), Anna Derleta-Konikowska (Senior Manager), Łukasz Kobyszewski (Senior Manager), and Andrzej Kopyrski in the role of Senior Advisor. The team executes capital raising transactions for clients operating across various industries, conducts complex restructuring processes, and services transactions in the infrastructure and energy sectors – offering a full range of services: from financing structuring to transaction completion.

Strengthening the team is a response to the growing demand for specialised advisory services in Poland and the CEE region. Poland is in a period of unprecedented investment in energy transition and infrastructure – from offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea, through the nuclear programme, defence investments, to the modernisation of transmission networks and transport infrastructure. The complexity of financing structures for these projects – combining project finance, capital market instruments, public funds and EU funding – requires specialised advisory that combines sector expertise with financial market knowledge.

My experience in financing – gained on both sides of the negotiating table: in financial institutions as well as on the investor side – will allow me, together with the team, to strengthen the advisory services offering in Poland and the Central and Eastern European region

says Krystian Solawa.

In recent years, Krystian Solawa acted as an independent advisor supporting the largest transactions in the renewable energy sector. He advised PGE on debt raising (partly from RRF funds) for the 1.5 GW Baltica-2 offshore wind farm project, developed jointly with Ørsted. He supported Rezolv Energy, an independent power producer from the Actis fund portfolio, in financing large-scale wind and photovoltaic projects in Romania and Bulgaria. He also collaborated with IFC (World Bank Group) on one of the largest onshore wind projects in Europe.

Previously, he served as a Management Board member (CFO) of Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe (Polish Nuclear Power Plants), where he worked on the financing strategy for Poland's first nuclear project. At Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, he raised capital for the Polimery Police project, one of the largest industrial investments in the region. He gained his financial sector experience at DNB Bank, Raiffeisen Bank and PZU, where he was primarily responsible for project finance. He began his professional career at PKO BP, BNP Paribas and Bank Zachodni WBK, working in corporate banking. He holds the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation and is a graduate in economics from the University of Wrocław.

Krystian joining the team enhances our capabilities. His market relationships and extensive experience open up opportunities for us to expand our service offering for clients, particularly in the area of energy and infrastructure project financing
