Drones delivering blood in Rwanda

10/11/16

Lack of adequate medical products can affect even more than 2 billion people around the World. Zip is new medicine and blood delivery drone invented by Zipline International Inc. The drone will be responsible for quick blood, medicines and vaccines transport across Rwanda in Africa. Road infrastructure in that country doesn’t allow for quick car delivery because of high hills and winding roads. Government of Rwanda officially declared implementation of drone technology to minimize the blood delivery time. Zipline will deliver all blood products for twenty hospitals and health centers. This solution can really save thousands of lifes as Zip can cut the sky at speed of 100 km/h and can be easily launched from special station. To make it even faster the drone doesn’t have to land to transfer the package. Blood is air dropped and attached to small parachute to prevent damage.
