Flying billboards, drones instead of fireworks, new generation of light shows… It will all soon be possible thanks to drones. They already facilitate work in many commercial industries, but now seem to make their way into entertainment.

Disney firstly indicated to test drones in 2014, but now the company released that the very first Disney drone light show will take place in Disney World Resort in Florida. Intel is also working on light shows with the usage of drones. It recently published a video with 500 autonomous drones flying simultaneously in Germany.

Apart from pure entertainment, the new technology can be used for marketing purposes, for example to display logos or slogans. Moreover, at some point the drone light shows can replace fireworks, which cause pollution, noise and potential danger.

The technology seems to develop rapidly. We may soon see even more possibilities brought by drones.
