Researchers at Murdoch University in Western Australia were able to spot an extremely rare whale with the use of drones. It was a young white whale called the Migaloo which has not been spotted since the 1970’s due to near extinction from overfishing. There was previous alleged spotting of the whale, which caused researchers to carry out the drone operation, almost immediately resulting in the spotting of the whale. Regular flights are carried to examine the development of the young whale. The footage of the whale has been published on youtube and you can see it here: youtube.com
