Application of drone technology is becoming more and more popular. Recently, Disney released that it will introduce light shows powered by drones to its theme parks. But it seems that drone lights can be used not only for entertainment purposes, but also to increase safety. In the UK in West Sussex insurer Direct Line tested drones to lighten pedestrians’ way on dangerous parts of the road. It can be also used to lighten the streets for cyclists or people walking home from e.g. a train station after the lights has been switched off at night.

The technology is called “Fleetlights” and has already been made available to local authorities in the West Sussex and other entities which has successfully tested it. However it seems interesting and has great potential, it would require further tests and also changes in the law to be implemented.
