First hydrogen-fueled drones able to fly over 4.5 hours

17/10/16

Chinese Company MMC UAV has launched groundbreaking, hydrogen-fueled drones this year. Majority of drones run on batteries and thus their flight-time is limited to around 30 minutes. But HyDrone, thanks to innovative technology, can be in the air for more than 4.5 hours and at the same time holds the world’s record of drone being in the air the longest. Prolonged flight-time and ability to reach distances of over 100km open up numerous new application for commercial customers. Application potential for firefighting, agriculture or precious mapping, as well as crime or terrorism detection, are all dramatically enhanced. Although usage of hydrogen raises many safety concerns, manufacturer ensures endurable, best-in-class materials, as well as auto landing safety check in case of any emergency.
