The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants® (CIMA) was founded in 1919 in London and currently it is the world's largest professional body of management accountants. CIMA focuses on the critical knowledge and skills that employers worldwide are looking for: accounting and financial management, business acumen, people skills, leadership and digital skills. In 2017, CIMA and AICPA (the American Institute of CPAs®) established a powerful international alliance that now supports 689,000 members and students in 196 countries. In order to become and use CGMA® (the Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation, a candidate should pass professional exams and have a minimium of three years of relevant practical experience.

CIMA Professional Qualification

• The Professional Qualification comprises 12 exams that are organised in three pillars and three levels.  
• The three pillars (specific areas of knowledge) are Enterprise, Performance and Financial.    
• The three levels are Operational, Management and Strategic. At each level candidates study subjects across the three pillars.
• Each level consists of 3 objective test exams and culminates in a case study examination.
• Objective Tests are 90 min long, computer based and available on demand at assessment centres or from home through online proctoring.
• Case Study exams are 3 hours long and available in four windows throughout the year, also computer-based and available at exam centres or from home.
